In honor of the chocolate cake I helped recently consume, I thought I’d share with you a small poem I wrote when I was the venerable age of 10 (or thereabouts)…
(P.S. One surefire way to inspire creativity in the little ones – let them eat cake!)
Chocolate cake, oh slice divine!
Come close, dear friend, make happiness mine.
Your icing thick and chocolate moist
Make you an obvious “better choice.”
You draw me with sweet subtlety,
Your taste: exquisite rhapsody.
One bite, and you have captured me.
You sing with joyful ecstasy.
