Choosing to love

I like the way my husband says things. He makes me see them from a completely different angle – sometimes a difference of 18o degrees!

Tonight he just said something profound. We were discussing the matter of whether love was an action or, as is more commonly meant, an emotion that can come or go.

“I never choose to fall in love, because that means you can fall out of love. But I choose to love. That way, the power belongs to you – and you can always keep on choosing to love.”

About multiculturalmarriage

I'm glad to be part of a multicultural marriage! I grew up in the U.S. but am married to an African husband. This makes life challenging, creative and cool - all at the same time!
